Which wood fence fits the property

Rot, pests and what actually shortens a wood fence's life
Wood is the material most likely to need real repair work down the road. Rot and pest damage in the boards themselves are the two named culprits, and both show up faster on a fence that never got stained in the first place.
Ground shifting and soil erosion can loosen even a well set post over time, which is why post replacement and panel repair stay on the maintenance list long after the original install. Catching it early is cheaper than replacing a whole run.

Because wood keeps moving with the weather, that finish doesn't last forever. Wilson Fence recommends re-staining every two to three years to keep the color and the protection from fading out, and the crew that installed it can come back and do that refinishing work too.
