Vinyl or composite: what each one actually resists
Vinyl fencing gives a clean, modern look and resists fading and cracking, so it holds its color and its shape with very little upkeep from one year to the next.
Composite fencing combines the strength of wood with the durability of plastic. It resists rot, fading and warping, which makes it a fit for a property where a wood fence would need more attention than the owner wants to give it.

What none of these materials fix
Choosing vinyl or composite over wood takes rot and re-staining off the list, but it doesn't change what's under the ground. Ground shifting and soil erosion can still pull a post out of true no matter what the fence above it is made of, which is why Wilson Fence sets posts the same careful way regardless of material.
Any gate hardware attached to a vinyl or composite fence, hinges, latches, an automated opener, still needs the same twice a year maintenance check as a gate on a wood or iron fence. The material changes what the fence panel needs. It doesn't change what the gate needs.

Fitting the material to the property, not the other way round
